Gaggenau Partnership

Gaggenau is a manufacturer of high-quality home appliances. Founded in 1683 in the Black Forest, the company has revolutionised the domestic kitchen.

Defined by technological innovation and a clear design language with focus on functionality, Gaggenau has been a subsidiary of BSH Hausgeräte GmbH since 1995 and is represented in over 50 countries.

Gaggenau’s 333-year histroy allows full submersion in the company’s rich history, and explore it’s Black Forest origin and centuries long dedication to technological innovation and craftsmanship.

1zu33 translates Gaggenau’s heritage, contemporary relevance and contribution to culinary culture in immersive scenographic experiences and visual narratives.

Gaggenau and 1zu33 have built a successful partnership over more than ten years with close cooperation on the design of global showrooms, trade fair exhibitions and exclusive events.  During our first collaboration, we developed the spatial brand presentation of Gaggenau, shaping the way the brand’s values are perceived and setting a standard that is used until this day.

Global Showrooms

The various showrooms for Gaggenau gracefully combine the brand’s heritage with materials derived from the location’s surroundings. The Chicago showroom honours Mies van der Rohe with its open plan design, whereas the Chengdu showroom includes a contemporary take on the peaceful Siheyuan courtyard. Black Forest references can be found across the showrooms to celebrate Gaggenau’s centuries old roots.

Exhibition Stands

The exhibition stands for Gaggenau combine experiential spatial design with materials from the brand’s heritage, references to culinary culture and state-of-the-art appliances. At Eurocuccina 2014 Gaggenau’s booth was built on the architectural blueprint of a farmstead, whereas the 2018 ‘Gaggenau Home’ was created around an open-plan kitchen, honouring the rituals of cooking and sharing a meal.

Gaggenau Events

In an ongoing endeavour to allow audiences to experience the Gaggenau brand, including its history and its values, first hand, 1zu33 continues to realise extraordinary events in special locations around the world.

In 1683, a blacksmith in the Black Forest began what is now Gaggenau. 333 years of luxury craftsmanship were honored by two surreal cinematic experiences, bringing forest magic to NYC and LA.

Guests were invited to step through time – an epic chalet cuckoo clock – to dine, with sounds of woodland birds and waterfalls, amid snow-topped pine trees.
